Duck blind luxury
« on: October 19, 2003, 06:12:09 AM »
My group and I went to the WMA to finish up on our duck blind and to add some cut brush for camo. While there we went around and met with some of the other hunters in the area who were doing some of the same things. Most were very friendly and even "showed us around" as if we were house guests. Here's a list of some things I've seen in some of this years duck blinds. Keep in mind most of these are in portable floating blinds.

Things I've seen in duck blinds this weekend.

Futon bed
Fluorescent lighting
Gas cook stove
Lazy-boy recliners
couches
a working toilet
card table
steel gun lockers
kitchen cabinet
gas space heaters
Color TV, VCR, and radio.
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time....ES

I can see the need for the tv, and vcr, but a working toilet?

Sounds like the blinds of the modern hunter are getting more luxorious then ever. Sure beats the pit blind method we use. Hardly enough room in them for my thermous!! :(

 Have fun!
Shadows grow long, a chill is in the air. Ancient urges prompt us. Instincts wake up, after lying dormant....Time to hunt.

for most of my life I have been the cripple chaser actually, my dad gives me both verbel and hand signals, but i  got a dog finally to help me out.

But i meant we are usually done hunting before and back at the camp eating breakfest before all that stuff would be needed. Barley have time to get cold sometimes.

But duck hunting for us has kinda been like the stock market, the boom of the nineties was great, but this decade has slowed down considerably.
