mjbgalt,
Sounds like you have made a fine purchase there. I have had a 9200 Slugster Combo for 10 years now. I have probably taken more deer, turkeys and pheasants with that gun than any other. I was a little sceptical about buying a Mossberg at first but heard good reports from others on how accurate the slug barrels were, so I gave it a whirl. Let's just say I have never been disappointed in the way this gun handles or functions.
Originally it had the 24" rifled cantilever slug barrel and the 28" vent ribbed barrel with three choke tubes. The stock had the two comb pieces that you could change back and forth for each barrel. I also bought a saddle scope mount for turkey hunting. After a year of switching back and forth with the saddle mount, I decided to buy a 24" cantilever smoothbore with screw in chokes for turkey hunting. With all three barrels this set-up has served me well over the 10 years.
I have only had two problems with the gun. First, the threaded barrel ring on the original rifled barrel at the receiver extension was slightly loose and was promptly replaced by Mossberg. Second, I had a hairline crack develope in the walnut forearm, also replaced in less than 1 week by Mossberg. I have hunted hard with that gun for 10 years and would still give it high marks. The 9200 also has a Lifetime Warranty!
I think you will enjoy many years of use from your 9200.
