My rossi .44 magnum carbine UPDATED!

this is most likely not welcome here but i thought i'd post it anyway to show you all who dont like them becuase of thier looks, what they could look like. I'll just quote from my post at the single shot forum

this is what my .44 rossi looks like. It is a far cry from the stock ones. It weighs just under 5 lbs with a scope. barrel has been cut to 16 1/4" remington mod. 700 rifle sights have been installed and there is a bushnell banner 1.5-4.5x32 mm scope sitting in weaver iron sighters ona weaver base. I use the iron sighters so i can shoot my irons too and also dont have to use a hammer spur. it is a real tack driver and will put anything down

hmmmmmm i can see the pics. i wonder whats wrong? maybe you have that cookie thing that wont allow you to see photos of a certain type of photos like GIF or BItmap or what have you. i'll get a pic up asap. i'll most likely be heading to the range  this weekend so if i do i'll see abut punchin some BIG holes in a peice of paper for ya  :grin:

The site you're trying to access requires you to sign in, you have cookies set on your PC to allow you to access them, others can't....    www.hunt101.com works sometimes and it's free. http://photobucket.com/register.php accepts free account registration during certain hours while they upgrade their system. They are my preferred photo hosting site, never have a problem accessing the photos.

the rest of the barrel is in the gunsmiths "barrel ends" box :). 16 1/2" and it works great for working that heavy brush

i didnt describeit earlier, I have it sighted at 25 yards becuase i hunt in heavy brush and rarely take a shot past 50 yards. at 25 i can cut one ragged hole. but when i real steady i can put a bullet through a bullet hole. just depends on what kind of day i'm having

You have me thinking (YEAH, a dangerous thing). I have a couple boxes of 44 Mag ammo from my flirtation with all things associated with Elmer Keith ( S&W 629, 4" barrel, Ruger Red Hawk, 7 1/2", etc)  long gone and traded (even before the big split). That could double for my Mini Bolt during deer season. I would do that to my Rossi .223 Rem. Combo barrel but thought better of it.... I had had a TC Contender in .223 Rem., 14" barrel and the muzzle blast from that thing  :shock:  :shock:  :shock: & I shoot a MN M44!!! I'll just have to get a Rossi or.... a Handi rifle in either .357 or .44 Mag. It looks great.

looks likeyou'll have to go the handi way cuz i cant find any rossi .357,.44,45/.410 anywhere! i have called allover the place. maybe they stopped making them? Have fun!

I'm going to check the Sports South website. They are the major distributor of all new firearms to stores like Academy, Bass Pro, and Wally World, even alot of Mom & Pop shops. I fact if you ask the clerk in Sporting Goods at Wally World to see the special order catalog, if he/she is not totally ignorant they will show you want is on hand. And what is on hand on order is coming from Sports South. Sports South has a web catalog & if it is not there it is not being shipped.

i checked and they list no .357 or .44 and i called a local dealer and he said that they were discontinued , according to his computer. 45/.410 was still listed tho
