Which Slug to use?

Hi guys,

I will be hunting with shotgun slugs for the ist time his autumn.  The gun I have shoots groups of about the same saize with remington coppersolids and the Lightfield slug.

I am leaning toward the lightfield because it looks like as the coppersolid "mushrooms" the petals will just bust off.

Does anybody have any experience with either?

What shotgun are you using and is it a fully rifled or smoothbore barrel?

Rummer,
  I shoot Lightfield Htbrid Expanders out of my 870 with a Hastings rifled barrel with great success.  If both the copper solids and the lightfields are shhoting good for you I would choose the lightfields since they have a higher muzzle energy I beilive 2500 ftlbs versus 2000 for the copper solids.  Also the lightfields expand alot more due to them being lead versus copper.  As far as the pedals breaking off, I hunt with people that use them and they have not had that problem with them.

I was able to recover a Rem Copper Solid from the off shoulder of a buck I shot a few years ago.  Shot was about 80 yards.  The petals folded back just like they're supposed to.  I've taken three bucks with Copper Solids from a Marlin 512B rifled slug gun performance was good each time.
