We won, we won, we won!

It is 10:30 p.m. and it looks like the bear baiting ban has been defeated by a 60% to 40% margin.

Thanks everyone that voted and helped in defeating this issue. It is a win in several ways.  It says no to outside interest groups in Alaska and a NO to animal rights terrorists.

Thanks for all the help guys! :D

Thats great to hear.  I wish they would stop trying to push game management thru elections.

Congrats.  Ours went 54 - 47 but we have more tree huggers here in Maine.  These people just won't stop but is great to see that two like states vote the same. Party time.

It's too bad it was that close, we've been without baiting for several years now in WA where the success for bear is now 6.9 %. Good for you, we need more sportsman!!!

Congratualtions on your victory for leaving game management in the hands of those who are qulified, not to be confused with people who base their judgement on emotions.  I don't know your political stripe, but it's good to see conservatives in control in Alaska.

I spent a 10 days there this year, plan to spend 17 next year.  I hope to move to Alaska within two years, after I achieve certification required for my field of work, as well as my wife completing her nursing certification.  I've seen most places in the lower 48, and I'll tell you that Alaska is King, even after just seeing it for a week. I've never been anywhere you could have a new experience every weekend for the rest of you life and never leave your home state.

I really can't see raising my young son anywhere else.  I love the outdoors, whatever the situation, and Alaska is far above and beyond anywhere in the lower 48 if you want to experience wilderness.
