well i got my first blood of the year today. it was a nice little six point buck . i was calling and rattling and had two little bucks come in a small 8 point and the 6 point well the two bucks met up and got in two fights then he bigger one came in smelled me and took off but the small one ,thank God, didn't  .came right in and stopped at 25ish yards i shot and put the arrow right through both lungs and just nicked the top of the heart he ran75 yards and was out of sight . i went home told dad the story and waited for  him to get dressed and we went out together to go track him down and bag him. the best part was dad had today off of work and had the honer of gutting my deer   . all in all it today was a great day in the woods, and it sure beats working.
curiosity killed the cat , but i was lead suspect for a while

Congratulations Mitchell, what a great way for a dad and his son to spend time together. I am sure your dad is even prouder of you than I am. And I bet he had a great time gutting "his son's" deer. With a bow, and a buck no less!!! I'm proud of you buddy and thanks for letting your father gut it for you if he wanted to, we to soon we lose our children to adulthood and if he is like me we want to just keep helping. It sometimes hurts when your kids don't want the help. As I said, all to soon they are doing everything themselves. You will have plenty of deer to clean, more than your father will have to help you with. Let him have fun helping if he wants to, he deserves it for raising such a great son....<><....
