Help!!! ID knife
« on: March 09, 2005, 05:28:34 PM »
Help!!
I just bought a knife on ebay... and I would like to find out about it. It is a well made, fixed blade, limited edition, # 15 of 20 and it has SK inside an oval, stamped on the blade near the handle. I would like to know who made it, so, I could contact them and find out who it was made for.  As on the blade there is someone's logo. It looks like a scope crosshair with the letters T D and maybe an H.
Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Without seeing the knife or having you clarify the last lettre in that possible maker's mark, it's real hard to say who made it.  I did check this years international registry of knifemaker's for a TDH, and while there are a couple that use those initials, none use them in the manner you described.  There are so many knifemakers out there that aren't included in the registry, though, that it could almost be anyone.  Normally the maker puts his/her mark on the front( left) side of the knife (the left side is the side facing you when you hold the knife upright horizontally with the point facing to the left).  The mark is normally on the ricasso or on the blade(of course).  Really don't know what to tell you, wish I could help more.

SK Knife

Hi
The knife was made by a maker with a logo S K in an oval... That is the makers mark...
They made a limited edition. I have # 15 of 20... It has some company logo with TD, maybe H, and a scope crosshair on the blade along with the words limited edition.
I looked on line for S K Knives. Found one in Montana, but they said they did not use SK for their logo, so did not make this knife. I would like to figure out who did and who they made it for?
Just wondering.
Thanks for trying
jim

Just occured to me this morning, that there used to be a company called S&K Industries that used to offer knives in the Gun Magazines back  a good while ago; in the 70's and maybe early 80's.  Never bought one or heard anything about them, so can't say more than that.  May not be the same, but is the only SK I've ever seen/heard about.
