I bought my first pickup truck in 2000. I looked at the Nissan Frontier Quad but there was no comparison... the Dodge Dakota Quad Cab was a much better truck in every way for about the same price. That's what I bought.
I went looking for another truck in '04. I wanted a smaller truck that would fit in my surburban driveway, that would hold my family comfortably for long trips, that I could haul stuff with, that would serve as a great hunting vehicle by itself and that could also be used to flat-tow my CJ-7. I can tell you that the American manufacturers have it all over the foreign competition when it comes to 4-door pickup trucks. I bought another Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, and have been happy with it. Best of all, the truck cost less than my '00 model even though it was the same exact option package with a few extras thrown in.
My only wish: Dodge would put a 6' bed on the Dakota Quad Cab. And, put back the instaneous MPG readout.
