I was watching Dirty Harry today, wife actually picked(!)--nothing else on, and got to thinking that I need to take a small loss rather than a large one.
Awhile back I bought a SxS off the wire and got what I paid for. The stock has a very small crack on the left side (they said it did) and I figured I could use some CA (super glue) and do a quick refinish and be done. That part is true enough, BUT...
Turns out this little beauty is a STAR from Spain and is rough to put it mildly. Probably could make it work but right now time is something I'm in short supply. I figured it would be a good project gun but as Harry said about a man.....
So am going to put it back together and take it to the next club match and offer it for less than I paid just to get rid of it. Figure if nothing else it will be a good (bad?) lesson for me.
I ordered a 99 from Coyote Cap and if they and my FFL and I can ever get together about where it is I'll be all set.
Life is full of learning experiences--it's just most of them are painful, expensive or both :?
