Is there that much difference between the 22lr Match barrel compared to the regular 22lr chambers?...Match barrels more finicky about ammo used?

Thanks :D

I have both a 14 inch T/C 22lr and a 14 inch BullBerry Match 22lr. I found that if was easier to find a good shooter for the match barrel than for the other. I still shoot both but usually geab the match rig to hunt squirrel with.
Love those .41s'

So Match isn't exactly "I need a totally different, expensive ammo for this barrel"? I want a barrel that will shoot about anything, but wasn't sure if the Match barrel would do that.

Thanks CF

The match chamber is just a hair SHORTER than a non-match chamber.  It is recommended that you DON'T shoot CCI Stingers in a match chamber because they are just a hair LONGER than a regular 22 LR cartridge.  That is what I have read and heard on this forum before.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.

In the match chamber, the bullet of the round is pushed into the rifling.  You can feel this when you close the action on a round and see the marks if you extract the unfired cartridge.  The theory is that this makes it more accurate and perhaps it can be seen with a machine rest and match grade ammo.   Most .22s show a preference for one brand or another.  My match barrel does better with the premium and good enough with the cheap stuff.  Minute of bushy-tail at 50 yards makes for a fun day in the woods.
