Which Zouave to get?
« on: December 07, 2004, 02:51:30 PM »
I'm back to the idea of getting a rifled musket again and I've been looking at the online auctions. Zouaves seem to be the most comon and generally well spoken of. However, they are and have been made/imported by several companies. The ones I know of are Zoli, Euroarms, Lyman, Hy Hunter, and Navy Arms and there's some I'm forgetting at the time. Which ones are better and which should be avoided?  I'm looking primarily for a good shooter.
Thanks.

IMHO, the best Zouave (and I've had two) are made by Pedersoli. The metal, wod and general workmanship/quality control are significantly superior to any others in the field.  You will still need a trigger job though as all of the Zouave's I've seen had really heavy triggers out of the box.

Learn something new every day! Up untill now I never knew Pedersoli made them too. After doing some more research it seems that Zoli is a decent brand too but Hy Hunter seems not to be.
Thanks.
