sometimes..it depends on just how loud it is..how many back round noises there are...(like wind etc).
ive had deer literaly right in front of me that didnt even take notice when i cocked my 1895g. but conversly, ive also had deer 25-50 yards away perk right up when i cliked the safety too loudly on other guns, just cuz it was quiet out and the sound carried easily.
practice cocking your gun quietly. i know that on my 1895...i can pull the hammer back slowly with my hand over the hammer and it is just the tiniest "tick" sound....but if my hand is not covering it..its much louder..or if i do it quickly.
