Ontario hunt

Well I finished this year without seeing a tail. Last year I took a great ten pointer. This year I took in the great view. Our party of five took two bucks, spike and four pointer first day. I thought that was a good sign, but it was the only day we saw deer. Heavy rain and strong winds drove the deer deep into the swamps. It was impossible to get throught the thick growth with out alerting the deer. They came out to feed at night then back to the swamps. Oh well we had a great time and now I'm off to NY for their opening week. I hope everyone faired better than me on their Ontario hunt.

well, it wasn't in ontarion but in the 3 days i saw more dead deer on the side of the road than live ones in the bush. rut hasn't started so they arean't very active. i saw 2 in the heavy bush on the edge of a field that where gone before i realized what i saw. i was crossing my cousins hay field  and jumped a doe about a 20 yards in front of me. the 6.5 came up and rattled of 4 shots real fast, all of them went wide. i'm going out monday and that'll be it for this year. maybe next year i'll fill my tag, they say third times the charm.

Season was early in our area too, we scored 3 1/2 deer, the largest being a 7 point.
!/2? Why a road kill of course!
On the way to camp, before the season started, I was looking at one of those "deer crossing" signs thinking "I've never seen a deer near one of those" I rounded a bend and was surrounded by eight or so deer. I figured I'd made it through them, when I looked in the rear view to see one jump against the side of my trailer.
I had to finish it off on the side of the road with my knife. I reported to camp covered in blood.
