I have ordered a new stainless Encore. Please recommend what you feel is the BEST mount for this rifle.
I really want to start setting this rifle and the future barrels RIGHT and don't mind spending the money.

BKS, I have had good results with the Weaver base and their 4X4 rings.

I use the Virgin Valley Stainless Steal weaver style base and Warne QD rings or  the Burris Dual Dovetail bases with the Burris Signiture Rings.

Warne mounts from Fox Ridge... a little pricy, but they are made for Thompson Centers....

I just purchased a TC stainless also. I think it is going to be a great firearm. I wanted to somewhat match the stainless finish, but didn't want to go the aluminum route. I went with the Warne Maxima base and rings. I didn't use the ones sold by TC as they only came in matte or blue. I got them from E. Arthur Brown, base #M987S and rings (medium height) #201LS. www.eabco.com.
Hope this helps,
Todd

I use  Warne bases and rings on mine. Work great.  :D

I bought a stainless encore and mounted a 2 x 7 VARI II Leupold in a matte finish.  This is on a 209 x 50 barrel.  I mounted the scope in leupold medium quick detach rings and the one piece matching base.  After switching powders and re-sighting the gun I took the scope off to check my zero on the open sights.  When I installed the scope and flipped the levers I was about a quarter of an inch @ 100 yds from the original zero.  I was impressed.  I wanted to switch this scope to a deer centerfire caliber barrel.  That is the reason I chose the quick detach.

some people think they are cheap but i have used hte weaver bases and rings for years and never a problem witht hem not holding up. i have them now on my new 308 and will be shooting it i hope later today depending on the weather and how well i can get around. the weaver single base is in my opinion the best one for the job and i use the quick release rings and make sure everything is set and tight and check them before i shoot and after. i am thinking once i am totally dialed in i will be using some blue locktite so help hold the base screws in place for the rings a good screwdriver will so the trick no problem. i have hunted with the weavers for many years and have to say they have done great for me

I’ve tried other bases like Burris, and T/C’s weaver style but nothing works better then Weavers block base for the T/C. Unlike the T/C version, and Burris, Weaver doesn’t taper the bottom of the front of base. With the base the same dimension through out its length there’s less chance for flexing do to changes in ambient heat or barrel heat (IMO).

I really like the Burris Signature rings. I have installed Signatures on 4 Encore barrels and 4 Rugers. They work every time I use them, no “fuss no muss”, no lapping, no triple checking the alignment of rings. I’ve never had a scope move after installing them.
