I'm going to buy a 22 autoloader for use with a scope, mostly bench shooting. From the gun digest, it looks like the Beretta Neos blue 6" deluxe=adjustable trigger is a good way to go. But I see that Ruger MK III with a 10" barrel....
Which would be better for my use? Any neos problems?

I had the itch to buy one of these a while back due to their "Star Wars" look and modular construction.  However, most of the feedback I've received and reviewed has been less than stellar.  Numerous reports of trigger problems/performance and feed problems...too many to negatives vs. positives.

I too wanted a fun gun to bust tin cans and bought a like-new S&W 22A.  About the same price as the Neo new...and it functions well and accurately with low-velocity ammo.  It too can be fitted with a number of barrels/options if desired.

For what it's worth...I'm partial to the Rugers (if upgraded with some of the Volquartsen components) and Contenders.  I'm sure some of the other guys will chime-in with their two cents.

Good Luck...let us know what you end-up with and how you like it.

I read the reviews. All said that the trigger was terrible,  but said it in a way that doesn't offend an advertiser too much.   A target pistol with a bad trigger is worthless.

I would go with the Ruger.  Target models will have better triggers than Neos, and quality of construction will be a little higher.  Might be useful to scout around for a used high-end tgt model Ruger - there are lots of them around, and they are impossible to wear out short of intent to destroy.

I would go with the MKII. I bought a Beretta Neos Deluxe Inox model. Gun would not even shoot.  Trigger was not being reset after a shot. The pretravel had been wrongly adjusted at the factory. Not to mention a heavy trigger too.
I got rid of it.
I own a MKII. Had some small issues, like a couple jams but that was due to using some very old ammo. The sights are not perfect. Would like to replace those some day, but the MKII has far more going for it than the Neos.

I picked up a Neos DLX 7.5  last friday..( NIB).. Took it out yesterday for a shoot and ran 400 rounds thru it.  Shooting a mix of ammo.. I only had
1 stovepipe no other problems at all..  The pistol was very accurate but i didn't like the thick ft sight blade.. my only complaint..
Trigger pull was a bit stiff but a little polishing will fix that..
to compare we also had a Walther P22 out too.. after 300 rounds it quit
functioning properly dew to unburnt powder redisue build up .. Both guns were cleaned spotless before we started..
I too have read negitive post on the Neos but none of the problems showed up on the one i got...

Just bought a 6" NEOS and rattled off about 300 rounds.  Had several problems with the trigger getting hung up but other than that no complaints.  I am curioius to see hwat a good cleaning, minor adjustments and lube job will do.

I bought the Neos 4.5" standard a few months ago.  The ONLY problem is the trigger...lots of travel and too stiff.  Really can't beat it for the price in my opinion.

RUGER MKIII. In case you dont understand I will say it again. RUGER MKIII. One last time. RUGER MKIII.   Comes with scope rail that dosnt interfere with open sights when scope is removed. Then scope goes right back on without interference from the rear sight. A very good set up for me. I like plinking at cans with open sights and I like hunting with the scope. I have always liked my RUGERS.  OK. That is my 2 cents worth. But one last time  RUGER MKIII 5 1/2 bull or 6 7/8 barrel.

Nebraska kelly how do you like the Ruger mK111 ?
Fwiw I love my Neos,only problem is when I bring it to the range everyone else wants to shoot it.Do I sound like I'm biased?
