New scope nikon vs Bushnell
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:32:06 PM »
Was thinking of getting a bushnell 3200 but at the dealer after looking at
a nikon Buckmaster and nikon prostaff there did not seam to be that much difference in them. Did not like the focus ring on the bushnell.
the scopes were all 3x9x 40
Is the Buckmaster that much better then the Prostaff.
any input anyone has will help.

the scope is to replace a NCstar 6x24x50 more power then I need.
It will be used for coyotes.Or is there another brand I should be looking at.

    Thanks

I have a Nikon 3x9x32 Prostaff camo in Leopold QR rings and mounts on my Omega. It's bright and clear, no problems. Also have a Nikon Monarch 4x12x40 on my Ruger 77. I have a two Bushnell Sportviews on my daughter 10/22, and my Marlin 883. I haven't had any trouble with any of them. I don't think you could really go wrong with either brand.

YES!

The Buckmasters are essentially pre-monarchs - of which I own several and love them - NEVER had a problem, and low light visibility is GREAT!

I ordered one from the opticzone.
Found a dealer that had one of each. the Buckmaster was a little brighter.
They also bad a Bushnell 3200, I liked the Buckmaster the best seemed to be the Brightest. Also the best warranty.

I love my 3200 very bright and good detail.  The only thing I didn't like about the Nikon is they are very critical about eye position.

One thing about the 3200 and 4200. Why is the eye focus ring made adjustable like binoculars? Looks like it would be easy to bump so might be out of focus when you get ready to shoot.
Also looks like a good place for water to enter.
I live in western washington we get lots of rain,Sometimes!
