Howdy barkeep. I'll have whatever you've got on tap and a sasparilla for my 11-year-old boy. I took him hunting on Quantico this morning and he shot his first critter; a Boone & Crockett gray squirrel. It's in the crock pot right now being turned into tonight's chili.

YEEEEHAAAAWW!!! I'm lookin' forward to meetin' that mighty hunter!!! In the meantime, I've just made my first batch of "Apple Pie" and I'll raise my mug to him!

Gents -- I passed along yer congrats to the lad. He was plum tickled. He' will be eating chili every night until the pot is gone. He made the mistake of tellin' ma and big sis that we put the squirrel liver/heart in the pot so they ain't much help at the table :wink:

Butlerford45 -- Chad says it's a good thing you like yer desserts 'cause he's bringin' fixin's for his "world famous" orange chocolate chip cookies...if'n yer missus will let him near the oven. Those cookies are what he discovered one night when we were all out of vanilla extract but had a bit of orange extract

Last weekend it was shootin' at bullseyes at the range for the lad. This comin' weekend, I'll tack up a deer poster and we'll let him practice pickin' a spot.

No beer for me tonight, thanks. Leavin' for Kentucky in 30 hours. Gotta get a good night's sleep, work one last day at the Five Sided Puzzle Palace, get a few more hours sleep...and finally hit the road.

Chad's been buggin' me all evening. "Dad, did you remember my hunter safety card?" "Yes, son." "How about my bullets?" "Yes, son." "Are you bringing the digital camera?" "Yes, son."...and my personal favorite..."Dad, do we have enough snacks for the drive?" :-D "Yes, son."

Butlerford45 -- see ya after lunch Saturday. It'll be an eleven hour drive so you'll smell the coffee on me from a mile away. :wink:
