Little tricks

How many of you use little or little known tricks when fishing? One for me is to apply Anise oil to my hands before going out. It masks the scent of the hands, alot of plastic baits have this scent in them. Another thing I heard a few years back, was to apply Preperation H to your tackle and it brought in the fish.  :-D . We did it a few times but didn't really notice a difference. Has anyone else heard of these?  The P-H I believe was on an outdoor show about 10 years ago. There's nothin' like the looks you get when you go in to the drug store and buy a case of beer and a tube of Preperation H.

i have heard that WD-40 has the same chemical make-up as herring oil and wiil attract fish but probably isn't enviromently safe. one of my favourite tricks is one i use for trolling for lake trout. i try to remove in 1 piece the air sack from a 1 -1.5 foot-long Jackfish(Northern Pike). attach this to your spoon and let it trail behind. i suppose that a long chunk of white bacon fat might work as well, but i have never tried it. :)
