Testing the waters!
« on: November 13, 2004, 07:02:23 PM »
Ok, here is the deal.  I've been on a quest for quite some time to find a super clean Model 94 in .375.  I stumble upon an "as new" Model 94 in .307, without the humpback monte carlo cheekpiece.  It's got a Redfield 3-9X40 mounted on it, and it's in perfect condition.  I end up buying it way too cheap, and follow up by scrounging seven fresh boxes of Winchester .307 ammo.

Well two weeks later, the brain clears, and I realize that I've got a great rifle, but I still don't own the .375 that I've wanted for many years.  Would it be realistic that I might be able to trade the .307 that I bought for a same condition .375 Model 94, without having to shell out any cash?

I realize that this is a great caliber, that is no longer in production.  BUT.........I'm not going to be truly happy until I find a .375.  So, without the lectures concerning how great the .307 caliber cartridge is, what are my chances for an even trade for a top eject .375?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

You might be better off selling the .307 for way more than you paid for it, then stash the cash until the .375 comes along.

Winter Hawk:  I'm one step ahead of you.  I did exactly that about three hours ago.  Now..........the challenge of finding a clean 375.  I guess that's part of the fun.  Thanks!
