« on: November 18, 2004, 04:14:24 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has one of these Simmons Aetec 2.8-10x44 or even looked through one. I have about $200 to spend and seen I could get one of these for my 30.06 .

Thanks

If I had about $200 to spend on a new scope I'd spend it on a Bushnell Elite 3200 2-7 or 3-9 not a Simmons anything.

Ok I'll check out the bushnells. Was you talking about the 3-9x50 or the 40mm? There is a 50mm on ebay for $189

I make it a point to never talk about scopes with 50mm objectives and when I do I say only bad things. Totally unneeded and more trouble than worth. Get a 40mm.

Ok 3-9x40 it is. Another Question. Walmart has a leupold for $199 . Is it better than the 3200 elite 30-9x40 bushnell?

That would be the Rifleman Leupold I believe. The Bushnell Elite 3200 is a better scope but both are fine scopes.

Go with the Leupold at Wally World. Vari-X1 2-7x33 for $184 or Vari-X1 3-9x40 for $199. You'll never   LOOK   thru anything else after that. Multicoated lenses, non-critical eye relief out to 5", unlimited lifetime warranty. You'll be happy!
