6 777 pellets!!!!
« on: November 03, 2004, 08:12:18 AM »
Well, I knew it was going to happen....a guy I know, brand new to BP, bought a Knight disc elite.  He got some 777 pellets, and DC sabots and went shooting by himself, no experience.  When he was loading the pellets, he thought that each row in the box was 1 pellet, hence he loaded 3x2=6 PELLETS !!!!!, I guess it made quite the bang, and smoke show.  I can't believe that the gun didn't blow up !!!  So, PLEASE 1st time guys, get some instruction from someone who knows.

Wow!!  I wonder if the only thing that saved the rifle from blowing up is the fact that all 6 pellets didn't fully ignite before leaving the barrel?  Sounds like a VERY lucky guy to me!

I was talking to a guy at work that  had a sucessful hunt using his ??? magmun bp. He stated that his  shot was 60+yds and a head shot. I thought well for a young hunter this is not a shot to be taken. He then went on to say he was using t7 of 75 grn. I asked him how he arrived at this load, as 90 is plenty for a 240gn sabot in our area. He informed me that he loaded 3 pellets of 50/50 thinking they were 25gr each. When I told him they were 50gr ea stacked on another 50 in the box he was shocked. He went on to tell me of another shot he had taken with 4 pellets, believing this to be a 100 gr load, which recoiled the scope back to his head and eye.  His relative a supposed Bp shooter advised him on the t7 50/50 box.

Some years ago a guy loaded 200 grs b/p and only got the ball down about 3/4 of the way. Lost 2 fingers on left hand and got a face full of metal. The whole story him and his buddy were out and he loaded one charge and they stopped to smoke a "JOINT", then  loaded the gun again.
This is another Darwin candidate.

That had to hurt.  On both accounts
