I think I may have hit the jackpot!!!
« on: December 19, 2005, 05:15:09 PM »
Before I celebrate too much I want to ask for any input from you, my new friends at Graybeardoutdoors.  I have just recently bought my first Encore.  I too, have gone head over hills and for this gun and ordered more stuff than I probably really need.  My latest purchase was a camo stock and forend for my 209X50, a 209X12 Gauge barrel and a forend for this barrel.  However, when my order was sent the camo 209x50 was backordered.  This is when I examined my 209X50 synthetic forend and compared it to my 209X12.  Everything lined up perfect and when I tried it on the 209X50 much to my suprise it worked, however the after I had tightened down the screws in the forend I could not take the ramrod out.  At this time, I re-examined both forends again and noticed that the screw post inside the 209X12 were shorter than the ones on my synthetic 209X50 so I used two 5 cent washers to make up the difference and everything seems to work just fine now.  Has anyone else ever tried this?  Is there any reason that I don't need to do this?  I just help myself for being so happy in saving close to $50, heck that is a good start on another barrel.  Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wow, good find. I was looking at swapping some of my foreends due to out of stock stuff. It looked to me that the 12 and .50 were close. I'm goiung to try it. Nothing wrong with the washers, now you have a floated barrel
