SIGHT QUESTION
« on: November 24, 2004, 01:10:39 AM »
what brand of sights do you prefer on your weapon. I favor fixed sights which fit in the  dovetail but I am not sure what kind I want when/if I get this project under way.
Eyes are old so I think large would be better.
Give opinion on reasoning.

There are 3 basic sight styles. Combat, 3-dot fixed; concealed carry, low profile fixed; and target, high profile fixed or adjustable. If you could tell us what type would best fit your shooting style, we could make some recommendations.

well, I guess that makes sense. I just thought ya'll could read my mind.
Concealed carry, low profile, fixed seems to be what I was thinking.

Sorry for the slow comeback. Turkey day etc...

Novak "Carry" rear sight is excellent. They are available in white-dot or black and fit the standard 1911 dovetail. See: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=9677&title=SEMI-AUTO+CARRY+REAR+SIGHTS&s=24416#24416
