My personal favorite is Accurate Arms 1680 behind a hard cast Beartooth 185 GC bullet and a BR-4 CCI primer. 1680 is very accurate in my gun and it meters very well.....those BT bullets are the 'hammer'. The AA website has some loading data and the rest I have worked up to from other loading manuals. About the only other combination I have worked with was some H4227 and Hornady 180 gr. SSP.............

I am using LilGun and 180gr xtps in a rifle barrel.  18 grains is giving me about 1900fps.  I could push it much faster but was a little worried about getting too much velocity for good terminal performance.  Get a look at the data from the newer Hornady manuals (5th or 6th ed. I think) for loads.   Last range session I was getting clover leafs at 50yds and less than an inch at 100yds.  Shot a small deer the other day with it.  It was quartering away.  Hit midway up back rib and had a quarter sized entrance wound and no exit that I could find.  The bullet seemed to expand perhaps a little too rapidly and appeared to have deflected a little latterally instead of punching thru to opposite shoulder.  Although some of the latteral damage to liver and stomach could have been pieces of rib splattered around.  The deer went about 50 to 60yds.  I have some of the Speer 180gr bullets for the 35rem that I am going to work up a load for, they should be able to handle more speed.  If I shoot the xtp at another deer I will wait for a more broadside shot and try to stay away from the shoulder.

My hunting load is 20.5 grains of IMR4227, CCI 400 primer, and 180 grain Hornady SSPB. The SSPB is a spire point bullet designed for pistol velocities and works great. I've used H-110 and got more me and vel but was not as accurate as the 4227. My .02 Mike
