375 JDJ

I was looking in Walmarts gun catalog and I see that they have the 375 JDJ for the Contender Carbine. I have read of its effectivness on large game but I wonder how versitile it is? How many use it for deer size game and what bullet works best for that job. Thier price is 215 for the barrel. I have a new G2 carbine but so far just have the 45-70 barrel that it came with.

James the 375 jdj is awesome for deer use the hornaday 220 gr. RN and for bigger game like elk use the 270 gr. hornaday spitzer. DON'T FORGET EDS CONTENDERS I recently bought a 7-30 waters new from the custom and ed got it for me and I belive saved me a little money but more important I rather deal with supporters of graybeards and also the smaller bussiness and not the giant walmarts.  good shooting , oh by the way H-4895 in the 375jdj worked great in my 12'' bbl.

James I load 45 grs. of IMR4895 under a Hornaday 220 gr. bullet for practice and 48 grs. of IMR4895 for a hunting load.  You can go as high as 52 grains of the 4895 I think, but my hands can't take that power.  Got good results with the 4895, you should too.  

Have not taken the gun in the woods yet.  But am thinking of doing so soon!  If I do and do well I will let you know.   :wink:
