The Ebay-aholics do get into some fears bidding wars, often driving prices way up over the actual value of the item up for bid.  And as someone mentioned parts are often worth much more than the whole.  I have a nephew who buys junk cars at local car auctions, strips most of the usable parts off of them to sell on EBay then enters the cars in demolition derbies. Says he makes a real good profit on the parts ha sells on EBay. By the way many of the sellers on EBay charge shipping and handling fees way higher than the $10 H&R charges.

You are  so right Brett, I have stopped buying from anyone on E-bay that charges a "handling fee" or exhoribant shipping fees. I always ask the TOTAL shipping cost before I buy,  if it is to high I tell the seller I am not biding and why, my feeling is a seller on e-bay should make their profit on what they sell and charge just what it costs them to send it...my point of view anyway. I have sold a few items on E-bay and have either charged just what it cost me to ship it or in a few instances a little less, my time and cost of gas to drive to UPS or the post office it not figured in, these sellers are not businesses per say that have to pay overhead and employees. I felt and feel my profit was in the selling not the shipping, and definitely not both!!!....<><.... :grin:
