Thats interesting Quick...I  ordered some round balls to tinker with in my 45-70 and they weigh about 143 grains each but are 457 dia.. I'd like to use some Unique powder with them...should be fun. I'm interested in those collar button bullets...Lyman had a special (1 time )run on a set of dies for that bullet a while back. I almost ordered one but thought...heck I don't even do any casting....thats just crazy.....wish I had ordered it now....can't find um anywhere  and as ya see they are pretty proud of them in that article  . My hind sight is ALWAYS better than my foresight for some reason....

I thought $8.50 per 100 wasn't too bad, not much more than round balls and a .457" bullet would be much better to shoot than a .457" round ball due to more bearing surface in a shallow grooved modern barrel. I may just get into cast bullet shooting since I don't need to cast em, good practice rounds for the .45-70! More ways to enjoy a handi!!! :-D Too bad they don't make em in .459" or .460".

Well I guess the shipping wouldn't be too bad added in for a trial batch...your right I guess...just that I'm a certified skin flint!! Dogs me sometimes!  :)  I haven't done anything with the round balls yet...they stick nicely in a new  unsized Rem. case....a small rap and I don't think a crimp of any kind will be needed.....I'll post something when I get around to it..LOL I get all my cast bullets from a fella up in Ohio...does a good job and is very reasonable...(thats saying something coming from me!! ) I'll be glad to hook ya up if ya want... :D  Ole shaner uses him also for alot of his boolit needs
