Hornaday Great Plains Bullets
« on: January 21, 2005, 06:39:46 AM »
Saw the Hornaday 50 Cal Great Plains 385 Gr bullets on sale at the local Wally World.  Has anyone used them and how do they shoot in a Huntsman? I'm thinking about driving them with 90 Gr of Pyrodex RS.
Thanks

I have used them and the near look alike Buffalo Bullets exclusively since I started muzzle loader hunting twenty some odd years ago. They work great. I use 100 grains equivalent of Pyrodex in my TCs with these bullets but that's because it's an accuracy load for me. Ninety grains would kill just the same.

Picked up some maxibullets at Walmart for 5.00 per pak, bought all 6. Waiting for the temps to go up so I can go out and play.
