Ok lets here it what is the best foot hold for coons currently made? Ever made? Modifications?

My favorites are #1 1/2 coil,coon cuff and #11.

I would have to say a Duke #1 1/2 coils spring i would take that over any other coon trap any day

I'm voting on the Victor 1.5 coil . Never used anything else . Nitelatched of course . I'm sure any 1.5 coil will do the job , but the life span of the spring strength is my biggest concern . 1.5 LS are useless for coon unless there are 2 springs .

Sleepy Creek # 11 all the way. I have never lost a coon from one. Even when i had several single toe catches(from my younger years of course) I think they are the best because they are extremely strong for their size and there is not enough room for the coon to get its mouth under the jaws for chewing. they will also remain strong for several years unlike coil springs which seem to loose a lot of strength after a long season.

Sleepy creek #11 longspring for land sets and #1 coil spring for water sets. Most any trap will work though.

My choices are the 11 and the Duke 1.5 coil, double jaw

for me:
#11, #220, modified #1 long (booster spring and chain moved opposite of spring), and snares...in that order.

I should have mentioned that I land trap only and am hooked on coilsprings. All of my traps were offset till last year I got into a bunch of coons. A friend gave me 6 1.5 dukes. They worked ok but I wanted a little better trap. But the nice thing about the dukes is I don't get as mad when one walks off. Now when those 4 coiled 1.65 bridgers dissapear let's just say that's a different story.

that's exactly why I mentioned the modified #1s in my response. I get them for a song used, put a little work into each one, and still have a decent coon trap (for water or land) that didn't cost me hardly anything. When they walk off, or get run over, or shot to heck...not much crying done over them.
