tap size scope mount handi

:D Hello was wondering what is the thread size of the receiver on a handi where the scope mount screws go.....I need to buy a tap and was wondering what tap size i need.....they just need a good cleaning out with a tap.....I need a tap number like 0-00...and a factory screw #so I can get new screws...Thanks to all that reply   Dale P.S. tap number is a must

Weaver type bases use a 6-48 screws and threads. But if you drill and tap new holes I would go for the 8-40 screws. Both these sizes are not readily availabe in tool shops. You will have to get them from Brownell both drills screws and taps.
