Does anyone have experience with this choke?  Wondering if it's worth the $40 or would you be better off to buy a slug barrel.

Save the $40.
Scroll down and read "Foster accuracy from the smoothbore", or whatever I called it.

Used one many years ago and got excellent accuracy from it. My oldest son still uses it now when he hunts in an area that requires shotguns.

$40 dollars is alot cheaper than a price of a rifled slug barrel...and like GB said, the accuracy is on the money... Opening day here in NY saw 3 Bucks fall to that rifled tube and Buckhammer slugs...a four, six and an eight...shortest shot was 75 yards and the 8 fell at 142 paces...all one shot kills..... Get the choke tube.  I have a Rem. 870 sp, that I bought in 1991, with one installed.  I have killed almost 30 deer with the old girl.  The load it likes best, is the old Win. foster slug at 1600 fps.  That being said, I am going to test some of the new loads out on the market for next year.  Once you get it, test as many different loads as you can find.  Go with the one that is most accurate.  I would even try some sabot loads, as well as full bore/foster slugs.  Every slug gun is different, some are as finnicky as a woman, some not.  BTW, my setup got me a nice 8 pt. buck, with an inside spread of 16 3/4", this year.
