Front sight question for a Springfield

My buddy has a Sprinfield WW II 1911a1. He wants to change the sight, so I need to know what size front sight tenon it uses. Narrow or Wide? I'll be ordering the sights for him, but I told him we need to find this out first. Thanks!

Springfield?? WWII gun?? The pre-series 80 guns all had narrow tenons.

It is smaller than most, can't remember the size. Do remember one saying they had to work it down. I would suggest a call to SA or one of the better makers of aftermarket sights.
YOU could probably mill a dovetail in and use one of those.
