sling swivel studs

Does anyone make a sling swivial for a Rem. 7600 that is not a barrel band. I cant seem to find one thats not a barrel band except for the older 760 ,and I've been told that there is a differance between the two forearm bolts.I really need a sling ,but i also hate to put a band on a floated barrel. Surely someone else has had this problem. Also is the synthetic stocks on the 7600 rifles thick enough to thread and hold a stud . thanks for any input                    Terry

I've had poor luck with screw in studs on plastic stocks.  I use machine thread screws and nuts on the inside.  This is a bit interesting sometimes but usually doable.  As to front mounts the barrel bands won't cause trouble unless you use the sling in the shooting position, such as a hasty sling used to steady a shot.  All I found online for the 7600 was the band style..  I'll look later in the catalog but that may be it.  You might also call brownells tch line at  1-800-741-0015.  Ask them if there is anything available....  good luck!

doetag:  check with Uncle Mike's (Michaels of Oregon).  They make all sorts of sling swivel adaptors for rifles and shotguns.  They may have one for that 7400.  HTH.  Mikey.
