Scope advice - $150, Silver Finish
« on: December 01, 2004, 03:31:46 PM »
I am building a Montana Rifleman M1999 short action left-hand .257R in a 20 inch barrel, all in a stainless matte finish.  I'll use a laminate stock.  This rifle will be styled along the lines of a mountain rifle, so I would like to keep the weight down.  What are my options for a lighter weight silver finished scope in the $150 range (if any)?  Though, I don't want to put a junk scope on top of a $1000 rifle, but my budget (and my spouse) is wearing thin!  All comments and advice are welcome and appreciated!

Welcome to GBO! :D The Bushnell Elite 3200 would be my first choice, a little over your price, but close and an excellent choice and far from a junk scope.

I agree with Quicktoo.  I think that the Bushnell Elite 3200 is the best one for the price range that you are looking at.  It is a little more than your $150 range, but that extra $20 is well worth it.

Thanks for the welcome and prompt advice!  I will investigate the Bushnell 3200 and, likely, put it on my Christmas list.  I hope Santa takes heed!
