...they are a little spendy....but I can shoot them without disturbing my neighbors.  I live in the middle of a bunch of walnut trees, and every now and then...the squirrel population gets out of control.  I also have a chicken coop, and it gets a lot of unwanted visitors at night, especially in the spring.  I would like to see them offer a plastic projectile in these as well. Many times, if you dont get the right shot.....well lets just say plastic would be better if an animal runs off.
  I have a tube feed semi auto, it works with either shorts or longs, My ruger 10-22 likes the C.B. longs, they work well in the clip, but of course I have to manualy eject them, but that works well, because you can eject them in your hand instead of having to bend down to pic them up in your yard.
  They work great in my Contender 10" Match barrel, but they are a lot quieter in the longer barrels.

I use CCI, CB's to hunt bushy tails out of a old Marlin model 39D. It's a lever action, open sights, short rifle that will group with any .22, from CB's to stingers. With the little rifle I can slip up under a tree with several tree rats and take several before they get wise. ( only when some leaves still give me cover) I love the CB's eventhough they are higher priced than LR ammo.
   I figured out long time ago, as most deer hunters have, that when your in a tree stand, tree rats are not scared of you. I do on occasion use a well placed tree stand to hunt squirrels, shots under 20 feet are common.
    For another challenge try .44 handloaded shot shells (use #4 or #6 shot) as a companion to rabbit hunting. It's a rush rolling bunnies with a pistol.

Ive used the CB Longs out of a old Sears single shot, and a 10/22 I put together to cycle the CBs. Never shot anything over 15 lbs with them but place the shot right they will go down

We've been using CB caps out of our .22's for years to take care of pests in town, in fact I took out a couple squirrels I've been after just a couple days ago.  They thought it was fun to run on my roof and explore the openings on my roof, I didn't think it was a good idea.  We live in a town of about 5000, neighbors are only 15 yards away on all sides, but I can open the back door and shoot them from in the house, I make sure they are flattened on th big cottonwood outback so the bullets don't go anywhere, it teaches great patience.
