Contact your states trapping association. Learn the proper methods of trapping and animal habits plus the laws of your state concerning trapping.  It is possible a mentor could help you.  Someone else on this forum possibly  would know your states association contact phone nbrs.

You're the first trapper from North Dakota I've heard of on the web!  I'm just beginning too (in the Turtle Mountains, central north dakota near the Peace Gardens).  I found this helpful: http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/resource/tools/furtake/furtake.htm

When you come into a specific problem , just ask and there are enough seasoned trappers here , you both should get some real good advice .
If an animal activist is being mauled by a bear should we stop it , or , " let nature take its course?"
