Single-shot conversion?
« on: December 03, 2004, 10:46:25 AM »
Some years ago there was a single-shot rifle barrel conversion (.308, etc.) offered for the 1911.   Replaced the slide with a rifle barrel/locking breech mechanism and utilized the grip frame/hammer/trigger of the 1911.

Anybody remember this one?

Made, or at least marketed, by Pachmyr (the grip folks).  I think they called it the "Dominator".  Try a Google-type search; you may turn up something.  I tried it a few months ago and ended up with not much, but did find a German site that said something about it.  You might find one on GunsAmerica.

You might try a Mech-Tech carbine conversion unit. A 1911 type frame or a Glock fits into a barrel/slide/stock assembly.
I have one that I use a para-ord. frame with & it works great.
Not single shot though, it's semi-auto blowback.
Available online, I got mine from Dillon.
It's pretty accurate & well made. It turned a P-12 into something that will actually shoot without jamming.
