917 rings
« on: November 30, 2004, 08:38:48 AM »
Just bought a 917v today .
need input on rings for mounting my weaver v24 (42mm objective

What rings are those of you who own the 917 using.
This rifle came with bases.
Have never used weaver style rings before so any input would be appreciated

I use Burris Signature Zee rings on both my 917V and 917VS, they work very well and you don't need to worry about lapping the rings or marring the scope with the rings. Use the ring chart below to determine the ring height needed to clear the AO bell. The high rings are .420" and mediums are .270"... the medium will clear most 40mm objectives and the high works fine with 50mm objectives.

The size listed is the outside diameter of the objective, not the lenses size. A 50mm objective lense is going to have a much larger objective diameter than the lense size itself.
