Ruger Getting Its Second Wind??

Is it just me---or does it seem like Ruger Corp has become a bit re-vitalized since the passing of 'ol William B.???

Little things like putting Torx screws in the scope rings(FINALLY!!!)----to all recent new product announcements------makes it seem Ruger has been listening to its customers and has become less stodgy or stuffy since he passed away.

All of which---to me----is a good thing.

Ruger is now making a scout rifle called the Frontier. The thing is so ugly that I love it.

They must have got that idea from Jeff Cooper I think he sets his scopes
that far out. And you are right it is ugly just like the SRH

I have noticed that too, new products coming out real fast, the 2 new .45 ACP pistols (KP345), the scout rifle, the new Vaquero, Supper Red Hawk Alaskan, etc.  How is the Vaquero changed?

What kind of new guns do you think they will come out with in the next 2 years?  Why has there been a change, is it the son who feels free to promote some new ideas, or was it that Bill Ruger was more cautious on new products?

It would be neat of them to come out with historical guns like the Italians have done, but with the Ruger quality, instead of the Italian stuff being so tinker toy.  S & W Schofields in .44 Russian, Remington 1875's, Spensor carbines, etc.

The NEW Vaquero is basically a Colt SAA sized frame like the old Flat top model Blackhawks from the 1950s.

Aslo,they will have the OLD SAA sized grip frame as well!!

Basically- Colt SAA handling with Ruger metalurly and lockwork!
The only large frame Vaquero left in the line will be the .44mags ,as the .357 and the .45 Colt will be chambered in the new smaller guns.
I can't wait to get my hands on one(literally)!!

Without being disrespectful to Mr. Ruger, of which I am a HUGE fan, I do believe some new blood and inspiration is not at all a bad thing. It took Mr. Bill to get things going, wouldn't it be a great legacy to see someone else carry the dream on to further heights? What better tribute to the man who started it all.
I do think they've made great strides in big and small ways. From the addition of stainless torx screws and stainless ring base screws, to the outstanding barrels that they've been making in the last several years. The new products like the SBH and SSS Hunter models, the scout rifle and 204 and 480 cartridges.
Yes, I think they're hitting their collective stride again, and Mr. Bill would be proud.

Does anybody know what Ruger has done to the mini-14 ranch rifle?  What have they done to improve it.
