Posted by John Traveler http://www.gunboards.com/forums/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=28&TID=5251&SID=2458520 Hi, Yanqui!I've played with simulated colour-case finishes on aluminum frames.Try polishing to noral satin lustre with wet-or-dry sandpaper first.Spray on Krylon Urethane Clear Finish.Apply coloring dyes with Q-Tip cotton applicator swabs. I use blues, greens, browns, and reds dabbed on a palate plate. Let dry, and spray on another coat of Krylon Urethane to seal it in.The finish is as durable as the Krylon Urethane itself.
