.45 colt Survivor

I was reading the NEF wish list and this is one of the cals wished for. They do make this cal in the survivor line (of course it is a synthetic stock). It would seem to have some versatility since it will fire .410 shot shells as well. Shooting hot .45 colt loads through it should be fine. The main weakness I can see is that it comes with a bead front sight, so trying to aim at anything beyond 20 yds or so would be a little hit or miss (literally). Does anyone know if a pistol scope could be attached to it?

That is why I took my .45 colt to a smith and had him tap and die me 3 new holes for a scope mount....Looks and works great...and only cost me about $50 buck with the mount and labor...

More info to come as I work up some loads

I have a .45 survivor.  When I first shot it with just the bead sights I could hit a claypigion ( on a hillside) at about 100 yds most os the time.  I had a Wever base and a reddot put on and now it hits where I aim up to about 150 yds. I hope this helps. ....lost

Thanks for the help guys. I just wasn't sure if there was a way to make one of these puppies more of a rifle than a rifle/shotgun. Thanks again.
