Question about the small marlin Levergun in 30-30
« on: December 17, 2004, 05:30:00 AM »
I am thinking of buying the Marlin levergun with the 16" barrel. I don't know the model number off hand. I think it is really a youth model. I want to add some ghost ring sights and a forwarded mounted scope(scout scope) and have a politically correct rifle to use on duty and some occasional hunting in close cover. This would save me having to have a gunsmith shorten the barrel and magzine tube.

Has anyone had any experience with this rifle and can an adult shoot it without replacing the rear stock.

I would appreciate any replies.

Here is your Spikehorn.  You can call Marlin for the Guide Guns with shorter barrels.

How did I get over the hill without getting to the top?

I'v been thinking about one for awhile. If they had a straight stock I'd probably have one.  My Idea is to get a spikehorn & swap out the trigger plate for a straight one & also get a full size butstock from a Guide gun or simlar model.
