Struck again!
« on: December 09, 2004, 05:50:39 AM »
I was readin over on Predatormasters and found a fella here in Washington that wants to get rid of his inaccurate Sportster .17hmr, $125 with scope, rings and ammo...I'm drivin north sometime in the next few days to meet up with him and buy it from him! This makes number 10 including the old H&R 12ga.

Yup, got it bad, alright! When he said the best he could get it to do was 3" at 100yds, it was like waving a red flag in front of an old bull! At worst, a trip to H&R will solve the problem, but I think I can work it out. He hadn't done a trigger job on it for one.

Quick:

He probably never cleaned it very good...probably no o-ring..and who knows about the scope and rail...heee...heee...as far as the trigger job...the quick fix works...but if it has as much shavings in it as mine did...then that will be a 15 minute cure

Well, he did say he had done all the tricks on it that he knew about, but cleaning isn't really a trick, just good common sense when ya know H&R, and I doubt he does. I don't want ta tell him too much, he might change his mind! There's another shooter over there that is trying to get shooters to convince him why he should keep his sportster, but he hasn't responded to any suggestions, yet. I told him he needed to sell it....and asked him how much he wanted for it!!! sick..sick...sick...

At least someone will have it that wants it.That sounds like a good deal.I bet the scope rail is loose on it,the holes may not be drilled deep enough.I have never had a handi that would shoot that big of a group.Knock on wood of course. :)  :)
