neat, huh?

it's probably cheaper than having it reblued and i wouldn't have to wait a year and a half. i'm probably going to go with a white and black winter type camo.

Those look really good, Kevin, although my preference if for the patterns that aren't pixelated.
Who does this sort of work?
Does USGI paint them in this manner or are you forking out extra for another firm to do it?
BTW, has anyone used walnut stocks and wood stains to create tiger like stripes or patterns?
I interested indoing this myself and then applying an oil finish.

wonder on over to CGN and look in the "Main Battle Rifles" forum there should be a sticky about Custom Damage Inc. one of the mods, Skullboy, does them. he should have pricing and more info listed there.

kevin.303:  there are a number of ways to paint up a stock and make it look very, very good.  My gunsmith - the one who performs the custom work on my Mausers - paints stocks in a gray/black motif that is really sharp.

I picked up one of his painted stocks for my Ruger 10/22 and it is a honey.  I'm thinking of having him do the same to a 40 yr old sporterized stock I have had on my #4 Mk1.  I guess it is a fairly easy thing to do, although I would want to see it done before I tried anything like that myself.  HTH.  Mikey.
