Scope for Winchester 94
« on: December 12, 2004, 01:25:09 AM »
I want to put a scope on a Winchester model 94AE .45 Trapper
Less favoured option is to fit a forward mounted scope base to use with a scout scope
Preferred option is to use a conventional eye relief scope ideally with weaver style bases.
I would appreciate feedback from anyone with this setup.
Who makes bases /how are they fitted?
Photos would be great.

Scope for Winchester 94

Cavebob:  the 94AE is very easy to scope and the Angle Eject design allows a top mounted scope.  Scope bases are readily available.  I have scoped two of my AEs without problem.  Thanks to Graybeard's suggestions from a much earlier post I looked into the Bushnell Banner line of scopes and found their 1.5-4.5 power Dawn to Dusk scope handles the recoil from my 444s without problem and gave me great clarity and light gathering.  They are fairly inexpensive and I have four of my rifles, two AEs and two bolts, topped with them.  HTH.  Mikey.
