Number 4 Buck Shot for coyotes

Using a Marlin Goose Gun, 36 inch barrel, Full Choke shotgun......

What would be the effective range for use on a pack of coyotes?

We have a permanent blind on a cliff, about 30 feet above and 35-40 yards distance from a good potential bait site!  This "ambush", if it goes will take place on snow, at night, over a road kill deer caracas!

The ammo will be handloaded by me as follows:
18 grains of Red Dot powder.
1 1/8 oz shot cup/wad.
27 #4 buck shot, hand stacked in the shell, then crimped in place.

C130E;  I didn't realize that the Goose Gun would be that tight!  Perhaps I should shoot this thing a few times before the hunt!  I was hoping that the pattern would be around 4 feet at the point of impact!
Do you think that the #4 buck would still have enough punch at 50-60 yards?
I guess I can just move the bait out another 10 yards or so!
