it's time to build a new SHOOTING REST

ok guys, i have had this saw-horse type shooting rest for about 15 years,it was giving to me buy a friend he had used it about 15 years.......so now it 30years old......not getting rid of it.......just time for a newer, LIGHTER, that i can build i need idea's..PLEASE....i can build from wood or metal(no allum.)...what types do you buys use?????thought it would be a good winter project to build in the barn. ANY IDEA's.......thanks

See if you can find an old weight bench and use that as your base for building on. They are fairly common at yard sales and most are sturdy,fairly lightweight and reasonably compact. A few pieces of scrap angle iron for bracing, some bolts, and 1/2 sheet of plywood will give you a fairly sturdy bench.
Just another worthless opinion!!
