Fore arm

I want to use my fore arm screw hole (Buffalo Classic) as a sling swivel
 stud. 1/4 20 thread's. Any idea's or suggestion's???? :?

I think if I were going to do that, and since you made the suggestion, might anyway!   Use a 1/4x20(right size?) hex head screw with it cross drilled and maybe a couple washers under it to get the right fit. You might have to anneal the screw head to drill it, just a thought... :wink:

Since you asked...here's an idea...use the regular forearm screw that comes with the gun. Drill and tap for the correct bolt and thread size of the swivel you want to use in the center of that screw right in the part where the point of the phillips screwdriver bit goes, attach your swivel/stud  to the flat head 1/4 20 forearm screw and your all set...sounds easy....<><.... :grin:

      Already tried that with an allen head bolt. I think it will work, but I screwed the first one up.

      Ya know, the smart thing to do is use a Muzzle Loader sling!!
  Or better yet, Just carry it like I been doin for a year now.LOL

Well, the only time I put a sling on any of my rifles is when I'm packing a critter out of the woods or ridin my mountain bike in to spike camp or to hunt in road closed areas, the rest of the time, the sling is in my fanny pack. Slings just get in the way when you're bustin brush and ya want the rifle at the ready. The main reason I'm interest in the mount at the forend screw is to locate a bipod there, it's closer to the hinge.

take a swivel and cut the screw part off. ....thentake the cut off part ,<the  one with the hole in it> and silver solder it to the top of the screw...i done this on a old huntsman 7 yrs. ago worked good till i sold it....do you understand how i done it???   JB

       I've seen quite a few pic's on this site of bi-pod's on Handi's. Mabey get some idea's off them. I use shooting stick's I made if I have a chance.
 Here in PA. where I hunt , I don't get that far of a shot on deer.
      Summer time for Ground Hog's is a differant story. Then I use my stick's or a camera tri-pod with a rest on top.
      I think you could use the bbl. stud with a little thought. All i know is my BC  forearm bolt is 1/4-20 thread's.  :-)  :-)
