PRESIDENTIAL QUALITIES OF THE LAST 50 YEARS
« on: December 06, 2004, 11:39:40 PM »
We have had a run at the best Presidents in the last 50 years, and I enjoyed, but it has caused me to think about some things ( I have a headache ).
They have all had good and bad qualities. Considering each individually, here are the qualities I have admired of each. These are listed in order of appearance.
Harry (need I say more)-I must admit to being a strong admirer of Mr. Truman, so I guess this may be a bit prejudiced. The most honest, upfront, no doubt about where he stood on any issue, president we may have ever had.
Dwight David- Did not do anything to prevent the greatest economic increase ever experienced in this nation.
JFK- Possible the most able leader and, undoubtable the most courageous. His liberalism, which can be explained by the times, ignored.
LBJ- A Texas man. That is the best I can come up with.
Tricky Dicky- Was smart enough to have a pretty good man to to create a good foreign policy, and not interfere with it.
Carter-The most moral and passionate President ever.
Bush Sr.- A faithful believer in whatever he believed.
Clinton- A good mind gone to waste.
Bush Jr.- Good ol boy with good intentions.
Blessings

What, no opinion on Ronald Reagan?

Back in '62 my dad told me what our last 4 presidents (at that time) had taught us: FDR-that you could be president for life. Truman-that ANYBODY could be president. Ike-that maybe we don't need a president. JFK-that it might actually be dangerous to have a president.

Johnson lied to get us into war and then Micro managed the war we lost.

George the 1st demonstrated that if you're a wise country, you don't screw around with the U.S.  What happened to the Soviet Union after we showed Saddam the way home?

George the 2nd is showing the world again that we are not a paper tiger and we'll not be screwed with.
