Favorite heavy 45 colt bullet?
« on: December 07, 2004, 01:46:43 PM »
Just curious as to what people prefer for a heavy 45 colt bullet. I have tried the 300gr Cast performance and wondering what you guys shoot. I am looking for something in the 300-350gr range for my Bisley.

Thanks,
Erick

I have a 335 LBT LFN that I originally bought for my 454 but it shoots pretty nice in my Blackhawk too.  For a cheapie the Lee 255g FN works with lighter loads.

Any suggestions for shooting a 3 1/2 in Birds Head Vaquero?

We sell the bullet of which Lloyd speaks, in fact I cast them from his mould. We also have this 355 grain bullet cast from an NEI mould I purchased from the old sixgunner himself, Jim Taylor.

In the past couple of years , I have ben using the LBT WFN in 325 gr. in the Ruger BH 4 5/8" bbl., with 20.0 gr. of H110. Fair amount of recoil roll. Groups less than 2" at 25 yds. and it makes a nice compact weapon to carry while hunting.
